Come estan!? How are y'all! (That's English, Spanish, and Texan all in one!) Last week flew by! We went to the Provo Temple this morning and it was different going to a temple besides Houston! I love going to the temple- a place to "take your watch off."
Yesterday we did our first lesson. Members come in and act as investigators. Our task was to meet them, ask them some questions, give a quick testimony, and schedule an appointment- all in Spanish in five minutes. After that we gave a 30-45 minute lesson in English on the restoration and the Spirit was really strong. I could really feel the Spirit guiding me when I was at a loss for words at times, but I would just pause and the right words would flow out of me. Elder Martell did a really good job but we definentely have plenty of room to improve.
I've probably already put on a few pounds. The food here is good (and yes mom, I'm eating my fruits and vegetables!) Everyone loves Wed. and Sun. because those are the ice cream days. Today is our first full P-Day. After the temple we went back and just relaxed and studied. My zone and I are all here now doing laundry and after that we have more personal time.
Tuesday night we had a devotional and Elder Pearson from the first qourum of the seventy talked to us. The main thing that I took away from it is that as missionaries we can't be ordinary anymore.. we have to be extraordinary.
We've been working on our testimonies so I thought I'd leave a short one with y'all in Spanish then translate it..
Amen.
I know God is our Heavenly Father and we are his children. I testify that Jesucristo is our Redeemer. The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel. I know this is true from feeling the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I love y'all and I'm so excited to teach! Keep writing!
Love,
Elder Gregory
