I just want to start by saying how much I love y´all! I am so grateful to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and for the opportunity to share it every day!
This past week we had a new matrimony to church! Their names are Floridor and Carla and they have two sons about 4 and 2. We are so glad they came and they are so prepared. Floridor took the opportunity to express every time he could in the 2nd and 3rd hour of how good he felt at church and how clear he is that this is the church that he has been looking for. They have a baptismal date for the fifteenth so we will hope that everything goes well!
We did a mini cambio with the assistants this past week. Elder Stermetz, my friend from the MTC, was with us and Elder Reed went with the other Zone leaders that we live with for the day. At the end of the mini cambio, we discussed the importance of reporting on your work. We call it ¨Rendir Cuentas.¨ The assistants told us that they see that it has been a problem in the mission and they have been studying it very thouroughly( as far as not setting achievable goals and being accountable for their actions). Elder Glass and I had actually talked about that the day before. On Tuesday at district class, we had all the missionaries from the zone report on what their baptismal goal was for last month, what they achieved, what they did well, what they didnt do well and can improve on this next month, and their new baptismal goal for the next month. We really saw the missionaries mature and take accountability for their work. A sister missionary came up to us after and thanked us for doing it because she realized by herself her weakness and all that she needs to improve on.
We had ¨consejo de lideres¨ or, Leadership council this morning with President Humphrey, the assistants, and all the zone leaders of the mission. We learned tons, especially about what we had learned in the mini cambio the week before. Honestly, one of the best parts came after. We played basketball with everyone, and President Humphrey played as well! He got all dressed up with his basketball pants and shoes and brought his nice ball to play! My team won the first against his team and then the second game, he switched to my team to be on the winning team and we won again! He has a really good shot!
This IS the true church!
