Feb 13th! (2.13.12)

Hey Family! Its been incredibly hot here. I found out today that the two hotest citys in our mission are Chillan and Talca, and I have been in both those for the two summers that I have been here! But, it should cool off pretty soon.

Enough about the weather! Our investigators are doing really well. We should have a baptism this next Saturday. Felipe, the 13 year old, stayed strong with all the opposition and now his dad told him that he will support his decision of getting baptized. That was honestly a miracle! A lot can happen that last week before the baptism so its not over till they are confirmed a member of the church but its looking pretty good! We also had a lady come to church for the first time in 10 years and she brought her daughter, Pia, who is 10 and the daughter is really excited to get baptized! She has told all her family that she is getting baptized on the 26th of February! She also looks forward to sharing with us everytime that we go over. I love teaching children because they are so quick to accept the truth and I love teaching the doctrine simply!

Something that I studied these past few weeks that was pretty cool was all the reasons why it was necessary for the church to be restored starting in the year 1820. It was really interesting and all the dates of what happend came from a talk named ¨Why 1820¨ from about 20 years ago. It showed how it was not possible that the church was restored earlier than 1820, and possibly not even after 1820. If a boy came out of the woods anytime before that saying that he had seen the Father and the Son, he would have lasted hours before he was killed! It also showed that a few years before the restoration of the Gospel, the patent office was closed because they said that everything had been invented. After the restoration of the Gospel and of the Priesthood, there were more inventions in 200 years than there had been in the thousands of years before. There are tons of interesting facts like that and I really enjoyed seeing how clear it is on paper that this is the true church. The message of the Restoration of the Gospel is our message as missionaries!
